I also doubt packet length has anything to do with it and suspect baud rates don't match

The data sheet for the CC1110 chip gives the frequency ranges it supports:
Frequency range: 300 - 348 MHz, 391 - 464MHz and 782 - 928...

Re: Changing the microRF/ It will run on 315MHz, but bear in mind that the balun and aerial have been tuned for 868MHz. So you will see a much reduced range. Best carry out a few experiments before you set off!

Re: Srf comms with xcm If you receive gobbledigook, mostly question marks, it suggests that your baud rates are not correctly set.
I'd carefully check that first. Packet size is very unlikely to be the culprit.
That's a beautiful sight! Any guess on wait times yet? I only ordered today (23rd Nov). I know they still need programming and a trip through QA to make sure they are ready.
Anyway, cant wait to get hold of mine, that's a seriously able piece of kit for £30!
